2022 Formula 1 season announces new details on the racing calendar.
The current Formula 1 season is in full swing and is thrilling motorsport fans with its excitement. The planning for the next year is already in progress in the background. The first information is already seeping through.
The new racing calendar for the 2022 season will be decided on Friday. But the first details have already become known in advance. According to the “RacingNews365.com” portal, there will be no return of the Shanghai Grand Prix. Instead, the Italian Imola circuit in April will likely be the location for the fourth race of the season.
The controversial Formula 1 premiere in Saudi Arabia is set to take place in March. After the season opener in Bahrain, it will be on the track in Jeddah a week later.
Initial information is also already known about the test drives with the new cars. The pilots should be able to test their cars in Barcelona for five days from February 21st. Two weeks later, further tests are possible in Bahrain for three days. But: So far, the regulations provide for two tests of three days each. The break between the test and the season opener in Bahrain is too short for that. The implementation of these plans is still unclear.
Another possible change would be the number of sprint races. There are three in total this season, and there could be six next year. But the exact format is still to be agreed.
It is already clear that there will be changes in the paddock. Lewis Hamilton will have a new partner in the coming season. Instead of the Finn Valtteri Bottas, compatriot George Russell (23 years old) will drive by his side at Mercedes.
