Tom Brady Asked About His Viral Free Agency Comment

It doesn’t matter that he has seven Super Bowl rings, Tom Brady will continue to play with a huge chip on his shoulder. That’s why he used his free agency experience as motivation last season.

During an appearance on HBO’s The Shop, Brady revealed that one team backed out of the sweepstakes for him when he was a free agent. He found that highly insulting to say the least.

“There was a story – in free agency, one of the teams, they were interested, and all of a sudden, they weren’t interested at the very end,” Brady said. “I was sitting there thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf***er? Are you serious?’”

Brady was asked about that comment in a recent interview with Jim Gray of SiriusXM. However, Brady refused to reveal who he was talking about while on The Shop.

“There’s private things for me that are going to remain motivational for me,” Brady said, via the Boston Herald. “They know who they are … it’s fine. Everyone has a choice to choose. I think what you realize is, there’s not as many smart people as you think. That’s just the reality. I think it’d be a no-brainer if you said, ‘Hey, you’ve got a chance to get Wayne Gretzky on your team, or you got a chance to have Michael Jordan on your team.’ . . . ‘Oh, we don’t need him, no thanks. We’re good.’”

Brady told Gray that he wants to show every team that passed on him what they’re missing. So far, that plan is working to perfection.

While we all want to know who Brady was talking about, it makes sense for him to keep it a secret. Maybe, just maybe he’ll tell the world who he was really talking about when his career is over.

For now, NFL fans will have to keep coming up with theories as to why Brady might not like a particular quarterback.
