Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors has been the subject of trade rumors for much of the summer. Following a productive first full season in the Bay Area, many Dubs fans believed the 26-year-old would be sold high as part of a package in a blockbuster trade to land a superstar to play alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
It doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon.
Last season, Thompson and 2020 second-round pick James Wiseman were both injured, and Green had a 7. Wiggins was frequently the second option for scoring behind Curry, averaging 0 points per game. Wiggins, who trailed only Curry with 18 points, was not to blame for the Warriors’ failure to make the playoffs. Last season, he averaged 6 points per game.

. Wiggins’ strong season with Golden State has apparently caught the attention of com, who have him ranked No. 77 in the 11th annual NBArank countdown.
“To arrive at the final NBArank prediction, we polled our expert panel on two player pairings: Kevin Durant vs. Luka Doncic vs. James Harden Stephen Curry vs. Zion Williamson The article continues, “Giannis Antetokounmpo… and the list goes on.” “We asked, ‘Who will be the better player in 2021-22?’ ‘Voters were asked to predict what they thought each player would do throughout the season. ”
On Tuesday, only the numbers 100 through 51 were revealed.
Wiggins Had Career-Best Shooting Numbers Last Season
Wiggins ranks just ahead of Indiana Pacers guard Carmelo Anthony, Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr., and Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks at 80, 79, and 78 on the list. Cade Cunningham, a point guard for the Detroit Pistons and the No. 1 overall pick, and Joe Harris, a sharpshooter for the Brooklyn Nets, are just ahead of him at 76 and 75, respectively. “One big question: Can Wiggins repeat his two-way effort for the Warriors?”
” enquired ESPN NBA reporter Nick Friedell. “One of the biggest questions about Wiggins after he was acquired by the Warriors was whether he would put in the same level of effort on both ends of the floor that he did with the Timberwolves. In his first full season with the Warriors, ‘Two-Way Wiggs’ answered that question, earning praise from coaches and teammates for his ability to change the game on defense. ”
Wiggins was not on the top-100 list a year ago, but he made a significant leap with his strong 2020-2021 season. The Canadian averaged 18.7 points per game in 71 games. 6 points, 4 points. 9 rebounds and 2 assists While shooting a career-high 47 percent, he averaged 4 assists per game. 7% came from the field, and 38% came from the crowd. On three-pointers, there is a 0% success rate. Which Warriors Will Make the Top 50?
When the rest of the list’s members are revealed, NBA fans can expect to see a few Warriors faces among them. Steph Curry, the most obvious top-50 player from the Dubs, is almost certain to finish in the top ten, if not the top five. Green will almost certainly finish in the top 50, but where he finishes is a bit of a mystery. Green would be nowhere near the top if the rankings were solely based on scoring and shooting, but given his overall impact on the game through passing, rebounding, and defense, the veteran should be in the high 30s or low 40s.
Thompson and Wiseman are strong contenders for top-50 spots, but given their injury histories, there is no guarantee. Thompson could be ranked in the top 20 if he returns to his pre-2019 NBA Finals form. If Wiseman makes the cut, it’ll be entirely due to his potential. Though he may not be able to play against the Lakers in the season opener, there’s a reason why the Warriors demanded so much in a potential trade for the 20-year-old.
Wiseman had 11 points in 39 games as a rookie. 5 points, 5 points. 8 rebounds and 0 assists With a 51 percent shooting percentage, he averages 9 blocks per game. 9% of the time on the field. The Dubs could have five of the top-100 players in the NBA if Thompson and Wiseman return strong before the All-Star break.
