The Eagles sign veteran tight end ‘Little Richie’ from the Buffalo Bills.

On Tuesday (Sept. 21), the Philadelphia Eagles added rookie guard Jack Anderson to the 53-man roster. They snatched a seventh-round pick from the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad for 2021. With Brandon Brooks out, the move adds depth to the offensive line.

In three seasons at Texas Tech, the 6-foot-5, 315-pounder started 38 games at right guard. Anderson was a medical redshirt in 2019 after sustaining a season-ending shoulder injury that ended his streak of 26 consecutive starts. He forewent his final year of eligibility in order to declare for the NFL draft in 2021. Tony Pauline of the Pro Football Network described Anderson as a “power gap blocker who can play multiple positions on the offensive line’s interior.” ” His adaptability is crucial.

Anderson had a fantastic preseason in Buffalo, where he was named the team’s best rookie (according to Pro Football Focus). He didn’t quite make the roster, so he’ll be heading to Philadelphia. For the first two games, Anderson was on the Bills’ protected practice squad list. Because of his physical resemblance to veteran NFL guard Richie Incognito (physical appearance and style of play), he was given the nickname “Little Richie.”

“I’ve heard ‘Little Richie’ a lot throughout the process,” Anderson told Buffalo News. “He’s a man I aspire to be like..” We share an agent, so I’m acquainted with him. Talk to him every now and then; I just FaceTimed him a few weeks ago. I think that’s a good analogy, and I’m thrilled to be a Bill. ”
