Sports Media World Reacts To The Tim Tebow News

Tim Tebow is no longer an NFL player, as the Jacksonville Jaguars released him before the start of the 2021 regular season. However, the former college football star is not struggling to find other work.

The former quarterback turned baseball player turned tight end is back on television. Tebow is serving as an analyst for the SEC Network, as the 2021 college football season is finally underway. That’s not the only role he’ll serve on ESPN, though.

This week, ESPN announced that Tebow will serve as a weekly co-host for First Take. ESPN announced several new co-hosts for the show in the wake of Max Kellerman’s departure.

Tebow is expected to be on every Friday to debate Stephen A. Smith on the upcoming college football and NFL games.

Not everyone is loving this news.

Tim Tebow was given 46 chances at QB in the NFL, an attempt for a MLB career, then back in the NFL at a position he’s never even played.. until recently released. But don’t worry, now ESPN gave him a spot on their show First Take. Yet Kaepernick’s unemployed,” one fan tweeted.

Of course, others are intrigued by the idea of Tebow debating Stephen A. Smith.

ESPN reportedly plans on having Tebow for the entire first hour on Fridays.

ESPN’s First Take airs from 10 a.m. E.T. until 12 p.m. E.T. Monday through Friday.
