Report: Monday Afternoon Update On RB Josh Jacobs

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs has been listed as questionable for tonight’s season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.

Jacobs was limited in practice last week due to a toe injury and undisclosed illness. However, the latest report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport indicates the third-year pro is going to be able to play tonight.

Jacobs’ illness is non-COVID related, and he’s “trending toward playing,” according to Rapoport.

If for some reason Jacobs is scratched from the lineup, Kenyan Drake will slot into the No. 1 running back role with veteran Peyton Barber providing support. The Raiders signed Drake to a free agent contract this offseason.

Jacobs, a first-round pick in 2019, has led Las Vegas in rushing each of the last two seasons and made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. For his career, Jacobs has 2,215 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns in 28 games.

The Raiders and Ravens will kick off tonight at 8:15 p.n. ET on ESPN.
