Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo added “NBA champion” to his résumé on Tuesday night, scoring 50 points in a series-clinching win over the Phoenix Suns.
Following the legacy-defining victory, Antetokounmpo’s girlfriend, Mariah Riddlesprigger, posted a heartfelt message on Instagram for the ‘Greek Freak.’
“Nobody truly knows the work you have put in and the obstacles you had to overcome, but to see part of your journey up close has been such a blessing,” Riddlesprigger wrote. “I AM SO FREAKIN PROUD OF YOU BABY! You are a NBA CHAMPION and nobody can take that from you! I love all that you are, now let’s go have this baby.”
It’s not clear when Antetokounmpo and Riddlesprigger began dating, but they’ve been in a relationship for some time. In February, the happy couple welcomed their first child, Liam, to the world. Earlier this year, they announced that they’re expecting their second child.
For the past year, Riddlesprigger has posted several photos of the Antetokounmpo family and their fun adventures together.
Once Riddlesprigger went public with their dating life, she received a ton of support from the fan base in Milwaukee. She currently has over 61,000 followers on Instagram and has created her own blog called “Sincerely, Mariah.”
While it’s no secret that Bucks fans absolutely adore Giannis, it’s safe to say that Riddlesprigger has been Antetokounmpo’s No. 1 supporter for the past few years.
In 2020, Riddlesprigger sent Antetokounmpo this inspirational message: “Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take toward reaching that goal.”
That goal that Riddlesprigger was referring to was an NBA championship. Fast forward to the present day, and Antetokounmpo can cross that goal off his bucket list.
There isn’t much left for Antetokounmpo to accomplish at this point in his career. He’s just 26 years old and he already has two MVPs, an NBA championship, a Defensive Player of the Year award and five All-Star Game appearances.
Riddlesprigger often praises Antetokounmpo for his work ethic and passion. As long as those traits don’t leave him, the Bucks will be in great shape for years to come.
