Ohio State Fans React To Surprising Oregon Game News

Ohio State is set to host Oregon on Saturday in what should be one of the top games on college football’s Week 2 slate.

The Buckeyes are coming off a road win at Minnesota, while the Ducks are coming off a shaky victory against Fresno State. Ohio State and Oregon are set to kick off at noon E.T. from Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Saturday afternoon.

Ryan Day’s program announced some surprising news about the game on Tuesday morning. There are more than 10,000 single game tickets still available for this one.

Ohio Stadium is annually one of the most-attended venues in college football. The Buckeyes have averaged more than 100,000 fans per game for several years in a row (save for the 2020 season, due to the pandemic).

Could Ohio Stadium be less full than normal on Saturday? It’s apparently a possibility.

Ohio State fans aren’t that surprised, though.

“$160 each or watch from my living room and avoid drive, parking, inflated food/beverage prices AND the old people behind you bitching that you’re standing all game?? Yep….tough choice,” one fan tweeted.

“I’d go, but my husband and I are in our 60s and we’re scared of covid. We’re vaxxed but I still don’t want even a mild case, cause in our case, it might not be so mild,” another fan wrote.

“I went to the Wisconsin game in 19. I had aisle seats in A deck. I think every play there was at least one person going up or down the stairs. I’ll watch it on TV,” one fan added.

There’s still four days to go until game day, so it’s possible Ohio State will sell out its remaining available tickets.

Ohio State and Oregon are scheduled to kick off at noon E.T. on Saturday.

The game will air on FOX.
