NFL World Reacts To Lions’ Crushing Injury News

The Detroit Lions have reportedly received some crushing injury news following the Week 1 loss on Sunday afternoon.

Detroit played tough against San Francisco on Sunday. The Lions trailed by multiple touchdowns for most of the contest, before rallying late and nearly tying the game. The comeback fell short, but Lions fans were impressed by the fight in the team.

Unfortunately, the Lions lost one of their top defensive players in the process.

Detroit’s first round pick in 2020, cornerback Jeffrey Okudah, has reportedly suffered a torn Achilles injury. He will miss the rest of the season with the injury.

“Season over for last year’s No. 3 overall pick, who was coming off a strong camp,” NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reports.

This is crushing news for Okudah and the Lions defense. It’s been a tough start to the NFL for the former Ohio State Buckeyes star.

It doesn’t get any easier for the Lions moving forward, either.

Detroit will face Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. The game is set to kick off on Monday night at 8:15 p.m. E.T.

The game will air on ESPN.
