NFL Fans React To Urban Meyer’s Disastrous Start Today

Earlier: To say Urban Meyer’s first game as an NFL head coach is off to a poor start would be a massive understatement.

The Jacksonville Jaguars‘ defense has been nonexistent thus far, as the Houston Texans have moved the ball freely, led by veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor and running back Mark Ingram. After one quarter, Houston is up 14-0.

It is still early, but the jokes are out in full force. Couple that with a report earlier today about Meyer having some issues already and a lot of analysts are suggesting the longtime college head coach will be resigning due to health reasons soon.

Here’s a snippet of the reaction from around the NFL media world.

On a positive note for Meyer, his rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence is 7-for-13 passing for 98 yards. They’ll need him to continue to perform well in order to get back in this game.

If they can’t, the external heat will on Meyer will turn up even though it’s only Week 1.

Update: Lawrence has his first professional TD pass, firing a 22-yard scoring strike to tight end Chris Manhertz.

Maybe the Jags are about to flip the switch here.
