NFL Fans Are Loving Adam Schefter’s Sunday Message

It’s been seven months since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. But while there’s no football today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has a message for antsy NFL fans.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Schefter pointed out that this Sunday will be the last Sunday without NFL football until February 20, 2022. Schefter probably meant to say February 13, 2022 – the date of Super Bowl LVI. But he’s easily forgiven for that small error.

NFL fans quickly took to Twitter to express just how excited they are for the season. His tweet already has over 60,000 likes, 11,000 retweets and 500 comments since this morning.

The trash-talking has already begun too. Fans are boldly declaring that their own teams are going to be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in February:

“That’s weird, that’s the week after green Bay is gonna win the super bowl,” one Packers fan replied.

“rams winning it all,” a Rams fan said.

“Bucs winning again easily,” wrote a Buccaneers fan.

But the majority of fans are simply happy that their favorite sport is back. The length of the offseason makes the wait for every season nigh unbearable. And it shows.

The 2021 season still won’t be the return to normalcy that we all want. COVID-19 is continuing to affect the entire country and will impact many games this season.

But fans are clearly happy to have football back in any way they can.

They’ll get their wish in just a few days.
