New Details Emerge From Richard Sherman’s Burglary Domestic Violence Arrest


Earlier today, veteran NFL cornerback Richard Sherman was arrested for burglary domestic violence in King County, Washington.

Sherman was booked into King County Correctional Facility without bail. As shocking as the news was, details of the arrest were scarce.

Now, ESPN has reportedly unearthed some more information about what happened. According to, a 911 call came into police around 5 a.m. ET (2 a.m. PT) this morning from an area resident.

“The person calling said that an adult male family member who did not live at the residence was attempting to force his way into the home,” the ESPN report reads. “When police arrived, the suspect was outside the home. He fought with police but was eventually apprehended and taken to a local hospital to be checked.”

The 33-year-old Sherman is still a free agent after completing his 10th NFL season in 2020. The five-time Pro Bowler is also vice president of the NFLPA’s executive committee, and the players’ associations released a statement on Sherman’s arrest today.

“We were made aware of an arrest last night of one of our player leaders for an alleged domestic violence incident and have activated our domestic violence crisis protocol for the protection and support of everyone involved. We will continue to monitor events closely as more facts are made available to us,” the statement reads.

Sherman spent the last three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers after playing his first seven years with the Seattle Seahawks.
