Michigan football is in primetime tonight, with Pac-12 foe Washington coming to town. The Wolverines are breaking out a rare look for the occasion.
Back during the spring game, Michigan teased all-blue uniforms as a potential combination this season. Recruits that visited Ann Arbor this summer also modeled them, a sure sign that they were in the mix for this coming season.
Now, the team has made it official. In a video posted by the team’s Instagram account, defensive back R.J. Moton models the all-blue look.
Michigan and Washington kick off at 8 p.m. ET. Tonight’s game is on ABC.
Michigan typically wears home blue jerseys with maize pants, making for one of the most iconic looks in college football. In 2014, for a big night game against Penn State, they went with an all-blue look. The Wolverines won that game 18-13, but finished 5-7 that season.
Last week, Michigan football blasted Western Michigan 47-14, a nice first appearance for a team with plenty of pressure on it this year. It is unclear what the line is for Jim Harbaugh to feel very secure in his job, but beating a usually solid MAC team by over 30 points was the type of Week 1 game that helped matters.
Washington, on the other hand, wants last week back. The Pac-12 power suffered one of the biggest upsets of Week 1, falling to Montana at home, 13-7.
