Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey made it clear he regrets the hit he put on Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow Monday night.
On the play in question, Humphrey blasted Renfrow away from the ball, flattening the third-year receiver. No penalty was called, but the hit clearly seemed gratuitous.
Take a look.

On Wednesday, the Raiders reportedly sent a complaint to the NFL about some of the hits Renfrow absorbed against Baltimore. The team also apparently included video of certain plays; we’re sure the Humphrey hit was one of them.
This evening, Humphrey revealed he apologized to Renfrow on the field after the play and explained that he thought Derek Carr had left the pocket, so he leveled the wideout thinking he was a potential blocker.
Humphrey said he wishes he could take back hit on Renfrow. Said he apologized to Renfrow on field and he thought Carr was out of pocket when he hit Renfrow.

Even with the Ravens’ grievance being filed, it’s unlikely Humphrey will face any league discipline for this play. It seems like it was just a onetime offense too.
