Look: Todd Gurley Shares Cryptic Message On Twitter

A few short seasons ago, Todd Gurley established himself as one of the most dynamic running backs ini the NFL. With the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 and 2018, he made two All-Pro teams and scored 40 touchdowns, which helped him land a massive contract extension.

But Gurley’s success with the Rams didn’t last long. After a lackluster 2019 campaign, the team released him.

Since then Gurley has struggled to find his footing. He rushed for 678 more yards and scored nine more touchdowns with the Atlanta Falcons in 2020, but the team decided not to bring him back in free agency.

As training camps start up this week, Gurley remains without a place to play in 2021. The former All-Pro running back is just 26 years old but it seems like the league might’ve already passed him by. On Tuesday, he posted a message on social media, implying that he’s still working hard to get back onto a team.

“Grow through what you go through,” he wrote on Twitter.

Gurley still clearly wants to play in the NFL and believes he can do so. With his past success, it’s hard to believe that he wouldn’t at least get a few looks from teams before the start of the season. However, he may not get his opportunity until a running back spot opens up somewhere around the league.

That chance may come sooner than Gurley expects. Many NFL fans have pointed out that the running back’s former team, the Rams, have need another ballcarrier after Cam Akers tore his Achilles earlier this week. Gurley has some familiarity with the franchise after spending the first five years of his career there and if anyone can get the best out of him, it’s Sean McVay.

At this point, all Gurley can do is stay hungry and stay ready. Soon enough, an NFL team in need should come calling.
