Believe it or not, this upcoming season will be Ezekiel Elliott‘s sixth year in the NFL. Even Elliott himself is having a hard time fathoming his now veteran status.
Elliott had an up-and-down campaign in 2020, carrying the rock 244 times for 979 yards and six touchdowns. Statistically speaking, it was one of his worst seasons as a professional football player. But there’s plenty of reasons as to why, most of which revolved around Dak Prescott’s season-ending injury and a lack of a true passing game.
Elliott is aiming to bounce back later this fall and help the Cowboys win the NFC East. He appears prepared for such a quest. The star running back took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon, admitting he’s stunned that he’s already in his sixth year in the NFL.
Take a look.
Year 6. Sheesh time flies 😅

Per usual, there is plenty of hype surrounding the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. There may actually be some substance to it, though.
This should be one of the better Cowboys offenses in recent memory. Dak Prescott will return after suffering a season-ending injury last year. He has plenty of weapons in the passing game and Ezekiel Elliott will be at his side. The real mystery for Dallas is on the defensive side of the ball.
If the Cowboys can get average play on defense, they should be head-and-shoulders above the rest of the NFC East because of their offense.
