Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez balled out against Fordham en route to a 52-7 win yesterday. But he may have impressed people even more with his postgame interview afterwards.
Following the big win, Martinez was asked if he felt the win was a confidence booster for the Huskers. Martinez was clearly excited, and said that the team “played out balls off” before realizing his mistake. He quickly corrected himself, but it was a little too late.
Martinez did play his “tail” off though in the win over the FCS team. He completed 74-percent of his passes for 254 yards and a touchdown, adding two more touchdowns on the ground.
So Nebraska fans were understandably excited to see how hyped Martinez was after the game.

“I watched that live and died laughing,” one Nebraska fan replied.
“C’mon Adrian you can afford the fine…” another fan joked.
“Someone knows his mom might be seeing this…” one fan said in a retweet.
It was a pretty good bounceback game for Martinez after his struggles against Illinois in Week 0. Martinez completed just 50-percent of his passes in a 30-22 loss to their Big Ten rival.
But beating Fordham – while they are an FCS outfit – will at least give Martinez and the Huskers their mojo back.
They’ll hope to maintain that momentum next weekend against Buffalo next Saturday.
After that, it’s off to Norman, Oklahoma for a rivalry renewal against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Adrian Martinez will definitely need to play his balls off for that one.
