Veteran running back Le’Veon Bell remains unsigned, but the three-time Pro Bowler worked out for an RB-needy team on Monday.

Along with another experienced free agent, Devonta Freeman, Bell worked out with the Baltimore Ravens earlier today, per the league transaction wire.. Because of two key injuries at the position, the Ravens are in need of some additional depth in the backfield.

Baltimore lost starter J.K. Dobbins to a torn ACL in its preseason finale, and reserve Justice Hill tore his Achilles in practice recently, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Gus Edwards is the Ravens’ RB1, with second-year pro Ty’son Williams behind him as the only other running back on the Ravens’ roster.

As for Bell, he has never been the same since holding out for the entire 2018 season due to a contract dispute. He was ineffective in 2019 for the New York Jets, who released the 29-year-old after two games in 2020.

Bell caught on with the Kansas City Chiefs, but was unable to carve out a significant role, rushing for 254 yards and two touchdowns on 63 carries. He appeared in only one playoff game, carrying the ball twice for six yards.
