17-year-old high school guard Mikey Williams is one of the top prospects in the 2023 recruiting class and already has offers from some of the top programs in the country. But his newest offer might ultimately dwarf all of them.
According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Williams has signed an endorsement deal with Excel Sports Management. Per the report, the deal is expected to earn Williams “millions.”
247Sports rates Williams as a five-star recruit and the No. 5 prospect in the Class of 2023. He is the No. 1 combo guard in the country, and the No. 1 prospect from the state of North Carolina.
Plenty of big programs, particularly in the SEC, have already lined up to give him scholarship offers. Arkansas, LSU and Tennessee have join Kansas, Texas Tech, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon and Memphis in trying to get him into the fold.

Mikey Williams will be eligible to earn endorsements under the new NCAA name, image & likeness (NIL) rules. He’s one of a rapidly increasing number of athletes to gain access to lucrative deals as a scholarship athlete.
Up to this point, the majority of 247Sports’ analysts had Williams projected to go pro straight out of high school rather.
Now that he’s able to earn some money playing in the U.S. though, perhaps he’ll be more likely to give college basketball a try.
Congratulations on the new money, Mikey. Don’t spend it all in one place!
