The 2021 college football season is well underway as the country gears up for Week 3 this weekend.
During Week 2, arguably the biggest upset of the college football season took place in Columbus. Then-No. 3 Ohio State fell to No. 12 Oregon despite entering the game as a heavy favorite.
With the Ducks’ impressive win on Saturday Oregon jumped all the way up to No. 5 in the AP Poll. However, one ESPN analyst thinks the Ducks should be even higher.
When discussing her College Football Playoff foursome, ESPN’s Heather Dinich had the Ducks at No. 3.
Here’s what she had to say, via ESPN:
“I’ve got Alabama No. 1 with Georgia No. 2. Then I have Oregon at No. 3 ahead of Oklahoma and that’s because of [Oregon’s] win [over Ohio State]. Oklahoma looked great [last weekend]and put it all together, but I’m sorry the Ducks are No. 3 because they beat – a still – very good Ohio State team on the road.”
It’s difficult to argue with her list so far this season. Alabama looks like the clear No. 1 team in the country, but both Georgia and Oregon have massive non-conference wins on their resume.
As for Oklahoma, Lincoln Riley consistently fields the top program in the Big 12.
Will all four teams make the College Football Playoff?
