Fans React To Drew Brees’ Debut As Notre Dame Analyst

Last fall, Drew Brees was still the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints. This fall, he’s in the broadcast booth for NBC.

Brees joined Mike Tirico in the booth for Saturday afternoon’s Notre Dame game against Toledo.

Just two days earlier, the NFL legend was in Tampa Bay to break down the Buccaneers-Cowboys game.

Talk about a busy schedule.

Many thought Brees was a natural and appeared well prepared for the Notre Dame game on Saturday.

Fighting Irish fans praised the former NFL quarterback for his analysis and commentary.

“Toledo/Notre Dame the game of the day so far,” one fan said on Twitter. “The Irish escape with two narrow wins to begin the season. On a side note, solid broadcast booth color analyst debut by Drew Brees in that game.”

Others weren’t as impressed.

Brees made a few too many generic comments surrounding the Notre Dame-Toledo showdown.

“Drew Brees: ‘Notre Dame just blew this game wide open.’ They lead by 8 with 10 mins to go,” said another fan.

Take a look at what others had to say about Brees’ performance in the college football broadcast booth on Saturday. Reviews are mixed.

The good news for Drew Brees is that this is just the beginning. He’s off to a pretty good start, wouldn’t you say?

The former Saints quarterback will be a focal point of NBC’s NFL and college football coverage in coming months.
