Exclusive interview: Ashley Iaconetti gives pregnancy update in the third trimester.

Ashley Iaconetti talks about her pregnancy.

The darling of fans of “Bachelor in Paradise” is expecting her first child – a little boy – with her two-year-old husband, the alum of the Bachelor nation Jared Haibon, in February.

In an exclusive interview with Clean Bowled, Ashley gave a glimpse into planning her pregnancy and its ups and downs, as well as a clue about her baby’s future nursery. She also talked about some important changes to the Haibon house – including a new house!

HEAVY: I know you had a lot of morning sickness when you first became pregnant. How do you feel now?

Ashley Iaconetti: I’m much better than I was. That being said, I’m still not feeling very good physically, to be honest. I still feel sick all day and throw up a few times a week. But I’m grateful that I now have the energy to lead a relatively normal life, unlike the first trimester when it felt like a struggle to do something other than play Grey’s Anatomy.

HEAVY: What surprised you most about your pregnancy?

TO THE: I’m most surprised at how relentless the nausea was during the first trimester. I knew I wasn’t going to be the kind of woman to enjoy pregnancy and I felt like I was going to get pretty sick, but movies make it seem like suddenly you feel the urge to get into at work to hand over a trash can. I didn’t think it would be like having an all day hangover every day. Why do they call it “morning sickness”?

HEAVY: Did you have any cravings or dislikes?

TO THE: Unfortunately, water continues to be an aversion. I’ve always been a big water drinker, but I’ve been barely able to take a cup since June. My doctor said water, oddly enough, is something that often makes nausea worse in pregnant women. I don’t really think I have food cravings … more like food cravings that sound like they calm my stomach. Again, unfortunately, McDonald’s really does the trick. Fatty, warm carbohydrates have something that needs to be enveloping my stomach. French fries, nuggets, or a McChicken sandwich and a medium-sized cola! Or their breakfast biscuit sandwiches!

SCHWER: Tell us about your experience with Natural Cycles to help you plan your pregnancy.

TO THE: Natural Cycles was so helpful in learning about my cycle by taking my basal body temperature every morning when I woke up. I consistently did it from December 2020 through May when I got pregnant. I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility in April and the biggest recommendation in the book was to track your cycle by recording your basal body temperature and cervical mucus … two things the Natural Cycles app makes easy. The app made predicting my fertile window so easy and confirmed my ovulation for the month when my graph showed a rise in temperature.

HEAVY: Let’s talk about how you and Jared are preparing to become parents for the first time. Is there anything you think you disagree with when it comes to parenting??

TO THE: He’ll likely have more fun playing games, but also be more disciplined at the same time. I don’t think we’ll fundamentally agree on anything, but I can see myself letting her get away with things he wouldn’t do in terms of behavior. I know because we’re treating our dog Lois. Even if she yells at people, I can’t be mad at her.

HEAVY: Did you get any advice from other mothers in the Bachelor Nation?

TO THE: jade [Roper] and i talk all the time. She’s helped me with some product must-haves, but most of the time she’s only inspired when I’m watching her with her kids. She is so patient and caring. I don’t know how she does it with 3 kids under 4 and a half!

HEAVY: Did you start with the nursery? Any topic ideas?

TO THE: We haven’t started kindergarten yet. We’re moving into a new house in December. I hope my mom can come to Rhode Island and help me decorate the nursery and the whole house. It sounds silly, but I’m pretty sure the topic will be a mix of Tom Brady and Superman … two of Jared’s passions that he wants to pass on. In our house, Tom and Superman are one and the same.

HEAVY: OK, we saw your baby name teasers where you said that your son’s name will be inspired by one of your passions. So what is it – New Kids on The Block, Leonardo DiCaprio? Can you give us some clues about your baby’s name?

TO THE: Haha! At this point I cannot give any further clues … maybe the month before the birth!

HEAVY: Obviously, Bachelor in Paradise has a special place in your heart. What will you tell your son about your reality TV experience? Would you advise your kids not to be on reality TV as they get older??

TO THE: Jared and I luckily both had fantastic experiences on the show and learned and matured so much from the process and, of course, got to know each other through the fact that there was no way we could keep him from being part of a show like ‘The. to be undergraduate franchise. We hope that we would be able to instill values in him in order to bring him through in a positive way. However, we may think differently with other reality shows. We probably wouldn’t want him on ‘Love Island’ or as an F-Boy on ‘F-Boy Island’! But yes, at some point, when it is age appropriate, he will know all about our history and will see some clips.

HEAVY: One last thing, I saw your taste of the coffee house you and Jared are opening in Rhode Island. What can you tell me Do you have a favorite drink or menu item?

TO THE: Audrey’s Coffee House and Lounge is a café with classic sandwiches and pastries during the day and turns into a martini lounge with shared plates and charcuterie boards in the evening. It is located in Wakefield, Rhode Island. I’m really excited about a drink that we call “A Trip to Paradise”, a banana and hazelnut iced coffee with chocolate syrup and roasted coconut. We also serve Egg Nog Martinis that Jared makes at home for the holidays, and they’re delicious! ! ! I’ll drink it in February when the baby is born. It doesn’t matter that it’s after Christmas. Our salami roses on the charcuterie boards with Manchego cheese are also my favorite!

HEAVY: Would you like to tell us something about your pregnancy or something else?

TO THE: I just want people to know that while I complain about a lot of my symptoms on social media, I’m so grateful to be pregnant and we can’t wait to get to know our little boy. I think it’s important to keep it real as we often see pregnancies on social media through an overly airbrushed lens. It sets unrealistic expectations of women and doesn’t depict women having a difficult pregnancy experience … which I have found a lot … and it makes them feel like they are alone.
