Everyone’s Saying Same Thing About Alabama After Saturday

It was Alabama and then everyone else during the 2020 college football season, as the Crimson Tide rolled to a national championship. Will the same be true of the 2021 college football season?

It appears to be possible – likely, even – following the Week 1 games that took place this weekend.

It’s just one weekend, and there’s plenty of season left, but Alabama looked like the country’s best team by a long shot on Saturday. The Crimson Tide dominated Miami to open their season. Bryce Young looked special, leading his offense to several big plays.

The rest of the country’s top teams didn’t look so great. Ohio State was explosive but inconsistent against Minnesota; Oklahoma struggled to pull away from Tulane; Georgia beat Clemson in an ugly, defensive slugest; Iowa State barely escaped Northern Iowa.

It’s only Week 1, so perhaps things will change moving forward, but good luck stopping the Crimson Tide train.

Alabama should roll to another victory next weekend, when the Crimson Tide take on Mercer. Things get tougher from there. Nick Saban’s team will play Florida on Sept. 18 to open SEC play.
