Everyone Has Same Running Back Suggestion For The Rams

Earlier Tuesday morning, the Los Angeles Rams were hit with some brutal news when it was announced that Cam Akers, the team’s leading running back, tore his Achilles.

It’s a brutal blow for the Rams, who saw Akers flourish near the end of his rookie season. After failing to get off to a hot start, the former Florida State star blossomed during the playoffs.

In 13 games, with five starts, rushing for 625 yards and two touchdowns, and adding 123 yards and a score through the air. In two playoff games, he had 272 total yards and ran for two scores.

After learning that Akers was gone for the year, the Rams know they need to add some depth to the running back room. Fans, of course, gave their suggestions on who the Rams should add.

Most fans had the same suggestion: former Rams running back Todd Gurley.

Gurley starred for the Rams for several years before injuries caught up with him. Los Angeles opted to release the star running back just two years into a new four-year deal.

Darrell Henderson, who started 11 games for the team last year, will likely take over as the primary running back. However, there are plenty of free agents – outside of Gurley – whom the Rams could go after.

Names like Le’Veon Bell, Devonta Freeman and Duke Johnson have been mentioned as possible additions.
