The UConn Huskies football team was once again embarrassed, losing 38-28 to Holy Cross of the FCS on Saturday. But as bad as the game was, one video of the team may be more embarrassing.
Late in the fourth quarter, a UConn coach tried giving a pep talk to some of the players. But when he held his fist up to try and rally the team together, only a handful of the dozen-plus players raised their fists up to join him.
UConn football fans were immediately embarrassed by the footage after it hit social media. The video has received thousands of views and shares, almost exclusively with people feeling embarrassed.
Many people are calling for UConn head coach Randy Edsall to be fired too. After winning just six games since 2017, it’s not hard to see why:
I’ve seen some real pathetic stuff as a UConn football fan. This is the lowest point. pic.twitter.com/e1EjNhNmtv

“It’s almost like nobody cares about this program anymore…. Including the players,” a Syracuse fan commented.
“Fire Edsall or drop football. This is a waste of everyone’s time,” someone else replied.
“Holy Cross really wanted that game and UCONN really didn’t. Was hard to watch if you were a Huskies’ fan,” wrote another.
UConn football is pretty down bad right now. They’re FBS independent and have games against some pretty stiff competition later in the year.
The Huskies play Clemson at Memorial Stadium on November 13. Just about everyone expects that game to be a blowout of epic proportions.
It’s tough to be a UConn football fan right now.
