Cowboys Star Reportedly Injured At Practice Wednesday

Nearly a week ago, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the Dallas Cowboys in the first game of the 2021 NFL season.

Star quarterbacks Tom Brady and Dak Prescott put on a show for the fans. In the end, Brady drove the Buccaneers down the field for a last-second field goal en route to a 31-29 win.

Next up for the Cowboys is a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Unfortunately, that test may have just become a little more difficult.

According to ESPN’s Cowboys insider Todd Archer, star pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence suffered an injury in practice.

“Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence suffered a foot injury in Wednesday’s practice and was listed as a limited participant,” Archer reported. “Add Randy Gregory’s potential absence due to COVID and the Cowboys’ pass rush would look a lot different Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Chargers.”

It’s unclear if Lawrence will be able to play against the Chargers. It would be a massive loss for a Cowboys defense that will need to put pressure on star quarterback Justin Herbert.

The second-year quarterback threw for over 330 yards against Washington in the first week of the season. He’ll likely repeat that effort if the Cowboys don’t have Lawrence and Randy Gregory on thee field to get in his face.

Hopefully it’s not a serious injury and Lawrence will be able to suit up for Sunday’s game.

Dallas and Los Angeles kick off on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
