Nick Saban turned a lot of heads this Tuesday with his remarks about Bryce Young. The Alabama head coach revealed that Young is approaching “seven figures” because of all his NIL deals.
“Our QB has already approached ungodly numbers, and he hasn’t even played yet,” Saban said at the Texas HS Coaches Association convention. “If I told you what it is … it’s almost seven-figures.”
Young signed with Ed Berry of CAA for NIL representation earlier this month and then quickly announced a partnership deal with Cash App.
There’s no denying that Young has the potential to be an absolute star for the Crimson Tide this fall, but it’s still pretty shocking to hear that he’s making nearly $1 million from NIL deals without any starts under his belt.

Since we now know how much money is on the table for potential-packed players like Young, some people can’t help but wonder what former college football stars would make because of their name, image and likeness.
“Hearing Nick Saban say Alabama QB Bryce Young (0 career starts) is approaching seven figures in NIL deals makes me wonder what guys like Marcus Lattimore must be thinking right now,” NFL insider Albert Breer wrote.

If Bryce Young is already almost to $1 mil from NIL, I would love to see what kind of numbers Tua would’ve done.. Considering he was treated as the second coming of Jesus during his time in Tuscaloosa

Young’s financial situation could end up helping Saban in the long run. Five-star quarterbacks now know what type of profit they can make while at Tuscaloosa.
“Nick Saban saying his QB is making 7-figures was BRILLIANT,” Allan Bell wrote. “Guarantee every 5 star QB recruit in the country heard that loud and clear.”

At the end of the day, college football fans are loving the new NIL rules.
Not only does it allow players to make a profit, it shows which student-athletes move the needle.
Alabama QB Bryce Young has made almost $1M with NIL deals.
That is absolutely insane and I love it.
Young has 22 pass attempts and 9 carries in his college career.

Last season, Young had 13 completions for 156 yards and a touchdown. There’ll be pressure on him to perform this fall, especially after seeing what Mac Jones did in 2020.
Alabama fans, do you think Bryce Young will live up to the hype?
