College Football World Reacts To Paul Finebaum’s Top 4

Now that Week 1 of the college football season is officially in the books, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum has revealed his way-too-early top four.

It shouldn’t really surprise anyone that Finebaum has Alabama ranked as the best team in the country. Nick Saban’s squad looked dominant against Miami on Saturday.

Georgia managed to grab the No. 2 spot in Finebaum’s rankings because of its statement win over Clemson on Saturday night. Kirby Smart’s defense legitimately shut down Dabo Swinney’s offense.

Ohio State and Oklahoma rounded out Finebaum’s top four despite their underwhelming performances last week.

“I think the first two, with all due respect to Heather, are Alabama and Georgia,” Finebaum said. “You can quibble about Georgia, but I think they’ve separated themselves. And then after that, forgetting a bad performance, I still like Ohio State. And. Heather, I’m going with Oklahoma. They struggled, they always struggle in early games, but I think they’re one of the four best teams in the country.”

College football fans don’t agree with Finebaum’s ranking for the Sooners, as one fan replied “Someone didn’t notice Oklahoma almost losing to Tulane at home.”

“Not sure who should be #4, but definitely not OU,” another fan said. “If OU always struggles early in the season, as Finebaum said, then let them earn it back later in the season!”

The Sooners didn’t look very impressive in their season opener against the Green Wave, but there were so many shocking results from this past weekend that it’s tough to determine which teams deserve to be ranked above them.

Do you agree with Finebaum’s latest rankings?
