Policewoman shoots ex-girlfriend and kills her new lover.
NYPD officer Yvonne Wu, 31, is accused of shooting her ex-girlfriend and new lover in a house in Bensonhurst, New York after catching the couple together
An off-duty police officer reportedly shot her ex-girlfriend and killed the woman’s new partner after catching the couple together, authorities said.
Yvonne Wu, 31, reportedly opened fire on the couple at the ex-girlfriend’s home in Bensonhurst, New York.
The tormented lover was allegedly waiting outside the house when the police arrived and said in a very “calm and collected manner” that she had shot “someone” in the house, the police said at a press conference.
Rocco Perna, a 44-year-old neighbor, said: “She didn’t say anything. She was so quiet. No emotions, nothing. She was handcuffed and they put her in the car, that was it.
“She didn’t fight back or nothing.
When police ventured inside, officers found Jamie Liang, 24, the new lover of Wu’s ex-girlfriend, on the living room floor with at least one gunshot wound in the chest, NYPD Assistant Chief Michael Kemper said.
The 23-year-old ex-girlfriend was also found on the floor of a bedroom with a gunshot wound in the upper body, reports the New York Post.
Both injured women were taken to a nearby hospital, where Liang died, police reported.
Wu’s ex-lover is currently in stable condition.
Kemper said, “This terrible incident is being treated as a murder case.”
Investigators assume that Wu was already home before the two victims returned, says Kemper.
The detectives check whether the woman has entered the property.
An emergency call made from home during the shooting allegedly painted a haunting picture of the bloody ordeal that was unfolding, according to a police source.
On the 911 call someone can be heard saying, “I told you not to mess with me,” the source said.
Another woman is said to hear screaming, “No, please. No Please.”
According to the source, four loud “bangs” can be heard in the audio.
It has not been confirmed whether Kemper used her service weapon in the shootings.
The off-duty policewoman reportedly dated her ex for two years before separating about three years ago.
Wu has earned 4 medals while serving in the police force and has always received good reviews and feedback, a source said.
