(CBSDFW.COM/CNN) – In August, the Texas Family Protection Services Department provided LGBTQ’s youth resources after Greg Abbott’s main Republican challenger, Don Haffins, criticized the content in a video message posted on Twitter. I have disabled the website.
On August 31, Huffins posted a message that Abbott’s political appointee “promotes transgender sexual policy to young people in Texas.”

“This is Texas. These aren’t Texas values, they’re not Republican values, but they’re clearly Greg Abbott’s values, so they need to be changed. That’s the purpose of my campaign.” Huffines said.

CPS officials haven’t said whether Huffines’ comments are the reason for disabling the Texas Youth Connection website and removing the “Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation” section, but among CPS employees. The email exchange revealed concerns about Huffines’ comments on the site. Discussion about site revision or deletion.
“The site was disabled a few weeks ago for content reviews, but it’s still going on,” said Patrick Crimmins, a CPS spokesman.
Crimmins also provided a copy of the email exchange dated August 31 with the subject “Don Huffines’ video accusing Gov / DFPS of pushing the liberal transgender agenda.”

“By policy, the program determines the resources that own the content and provide it to young people,” Hazard said in his response.
Hazard also said, “As far as I can remember, I’ve confirmed that there was some content related to LGBTQ, but the current content is only a few years old.”
The next day, Azar emailed “The website has been temporarily disabled due to a comprehensive review of the content.” This is done to ensure that the information, resources, and referrals are up to date. “
In a statement to CNN on October 13, Huffins said: I promised the Texans to get rid of that website, and I kept that promise. “

CPS “provides exploitative content that makes children sexual,” Huffines said in a longer statement shared on social media. He also asked Abbott to dismiss the department head.
“Adults who impose perverted LGBTQ agendas on our children are immediately removed from all positions within the Texas state agency,” added former State Senator Huffins.
CNN contacted Abbott for comment. His office did not immediately respond to the request.
