Taipei (Reuters) -Taiwanese Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-chen said Thursday that the island would not begin a war with China amid heightened tensions in the sensitive Taiwan Strait.
“The Republic of China will never start a war,” Chiu told Congress, citing the official name of Taiwan.
