Madrid (Reuters) – Spanish market regulators scolded soccer star Andres Iniesta on Wednesday night after promoting the cryptocurrency exchange platform Binance on Twitter and Instagram accounts.

“I’m learning how to start using cryptocurrencies with @ binance # BinanceForAll,” the player said in a social media account, and it seems that his photos are trading on the Binance website in front of a laptop computer.

The post did not indicate whether the content was paid by the company. Iniesta did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters sent via Twitter.

Iniesta, who played most of his career in Barcelona, was a member of the Spanish national team that won the 2010 World Cup and is currently playing in Kobe, Japan. His followers are 25 million on Twitter and 38 million on Instagram. The post was highly rated 270,000 times on Instagram.

In a tweet released hours after Iniesta, Spanish market regulators should be fully informed about cryptocurrencies before investing in or encouraging others to do so. I told him.

“Hello @ andresiniesta8, crypto assets are an unregulated product and carry some significant risks,” the regulator told soccer players on his Twitter account.

Market regulators around the world are worried about cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency trading platforms that handle huge amounts of money and are largely unregulated in their operations.

In the last few years, there have been some reports of asset disappearances, platform hacks, and bankruptcies.
