“I have resigned as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders,” Gruden said. “I love Raiders and don’t want to be distracted. Thanks to all Raider Nation players, coaches, staff and fans. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt anyone.”
Raiders owner Mark Davis said last week that an email about Smith was “not an abbreviation for Raiders, it’s annoying.” He added that the team is considering additional communications.
