The public doesn’t hear much about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan at the moment. Every now and then there are news here and there. Now a friend of the Duke of Sussex tells us how he is doing in the USA.
It’s been just under a year since Harry and Meghan announced their desire to retire from the royal family. This came into effect in April 2020. For some time now, the couple has been living in America with their son, and in the summer the small family moved into their own house in Santa Barbara. If it goes after Harrys friend Tom Bradby, the Queen grandson feels there pudelwohl. But the situation within his family is said to be bothering him.
Tom Bradby has a close relationship with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan. The British journalist, author and news anchor interviewed the couple during their trip to Africa for a TV documentary. Now he was a guest on the UK show “Love Your Weekend,” which airs Sunday. “Hello!” magazine got advance glimpses. According to the paper, Bradby says on the show regarding the Sussex couple’s health, “I think they’re doing better, yeah. I mean, so much has happened in the past year, so many things that I can’t talk about and don’t want to talk about, and a lot of what’s been said isn’t quite right or right at all.” According to Bradby, the two have settled in well in the United States.
The journalist finds it frustrating that so much bad and false is being reported about Harry and Meghan. He clarifies, “I think they’re content, the things they’re doing are pretty exciting for them.” The two have several projects going on, after all, and just before Christmas they released their first podcast on Spotify. They also inked a mega deal with Netflix.

But there is something weighing on Harry’s mind, according to Bradby: “I think he’s heartbroken about the situation with his family. I really think it’s true.” The host wants to know from Bradby if he is referring to the emotional distance between Harry and his older brother Prince William. “Well, the situation with the family is clearly not ideal and it’s been a very difficult year for them all,” the writer replies. There have been repeated reports in the British media of a rift and quarrel between the two brothers. All in all, however, Bradby thinks Harry and Meghan are happy. “But I think they struggle with their position in life, I think they all do. I think William does too, I don’t think he finds it easy.”
In early 2020, Harry and Meghan had announced they wanted to go their own ways. They now live in a Santa Barbara estate in California and have begun to launch their own media production in collaborations with streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify. The multi-million dollar deals should mean that financial independence from the royal family is no longer difficult for them – but a return as full-time royals (the Queen would allow them to do so) is thus as good as ruled out, according to royal family experts.
