Berlin – A local news agency, APA, reported last week that former Austrian Prime Minister Sebastian Kurz had sworn in as a member of parliament after resigning on suspicion of corruption.
Kurtz, 35, also maintains his role as leader, heading a parliamentary group and staying at the center of Austrian politics while fighting to reveal his name.
“I will do everything I can to refute the false accusations against me,” Kurz reiterated on Facebook Thursday morning.
He announced on Saturday that he would withdraw to ease the political crisis caused by the prosecutor’s announcement that he was one of the targets of the alleged bribery and resignation investigation. Kurtz’s junior coalition partner, Greens, was demanding his replacement.
Kurtz and his close associates sought to secure his rise to the leadership of his party and country with the help of publicly funded manipulated polls and friendly media coverage. Has been accused of. Kurtz became the leader of his Austrian People’s Party and became Prime Minister in 2017.
